Working Cat Program

Why do we need a Working Cat program?
In a perfect world, all cats would live happily in a home as a lap cat; however, this is not always the case. Some cats are not suited for this environment. Others are under-socialized and need and want outdoor homes with limited human interaction. Although not a typical adoption, these cats need a safe space with good food and fresh water and veterinary care. In return, they will keep the rodent population down without an endless supply of kittens.
What you provide
You must provide a safe, insulated outdoor/indoor building such as a barn, stable or warehouse. You need to provide daily food and fresh water, plus vet care.
What we provide
We provide cats that are spayed or neutered, fevl/fiv neg, and current on vaccinations. It is ideal to have at least two cats, because they can keep each other company and huddle for warmth in the winter.
How it works
The cats will require at least 3 weeks in a kennel (or other safe enclosure) with a litter box and fresh food and water daily. They need this time to establish your home as theirs so they stick around. You will need to fill out a working cat application and have an on-site inspection to ensure a safe building for the cats. The adoption fee per cat is 30.00. Please consider giving these cats a place they can call home and, in return, they will earn their keep by keeping your barn or stable rodent free.
