Hi, my name is Gears! I also go by Hutch because I live with my canine brother Starsky. We were both rescued from a home in TX that had many other dogs, and I’ve always looked to my brother for guidance. However, my foster mom says that I’m ready to venture out in the world on my own with a companion dog to show me the way.

Since I shared a house with lots of dogs, I’m not very familiar with humans so I’m a little cautious of people. I really don’t want to be shy, so I need a home that will allow me the time to come out of my shell and be the loveable dog that my mom says I am. I’m a pretty quiet and chill guy. Sometimes when I get a burst of energy I run in circles and throw my toys in the air, but for the most part I’m very low key. Sometimes I make my mom laugh – she says I’m “quirky”! Maybe it’s because I like to play peek-a-boo around corners and jump up and down on all fours when she comes home from work. I’m just so happy to see her that it makes me squeak.  I can’t wait for her to give me lots of pets, hugs and kisses.

I’m working really hard on potty training, and I know outside is where I need to go.  I’m still learning how to let my foster family know when it’s time, but as long as I am kept on a regular schedule there won’t be any accidents from of me.

I like my crate, and sometimes I lounge in there when I’m feeling extra shy. It’s where I sleep at night too, and it’s so comfy I don’t make a peep. My foster mom is working with me on that leash thing, and I’m getting much better.  Sometimes I get a little scared of the big world outside and need to be carried, but I’m starting to get the hang of it.  It’s fun to get out in the yard and explore.  Once I find my perfect spot, I’m all about following mom back in the house. I know I will eventually have to follow her out of the house, but right now I enjoy all the hugs and kisses she gives me when she carries me!

Are you ready to show me how great people can be?!
