Melrose is a very special girl looking for a very special home. Melrose came from TX as a stray, she was dumped at a park that is known for dog dumping. We have no idea how long she was there or what her history is.

Melrose came to MN on a transport and has been slowly settling into her foster home.  She has learned the routine of the home and is more than excited for meal time. At first she was so terrified that even the resident dogs did not bring her comfort but now, after a time, she has grown to love the resident lab, shepherd and schnauzer mix. She really enjoys the nightly play sessions with the dogs in her safe place which is the bedroom.  She lacks the self confidence required to be the happy dog she deserves to be. She is sweet as pie and has never shown any signs of aggression.
We are seeking a home that is very experienced in shy/fearful dogs. You must have a fully fenced in yard and you must have shy/fearful dog experience. For some reason Melrose has a fear of outside so potty training has been a challenge. She knows she has to go outside but she does not like being out there and most of the time needs to be carried outside and placed in her designated area where she will do her business and promptly run back inside. A home that is not looking for an instant dog that they can take on walks or the brewery. We are seeking a calm, quiet home that is interested in helping Melrose settle in and slowly help her work on building her confidence. She is an extremely slow burner that requires a home with a lot of patience. Melrose is a kind dog that is worth every hour of every day. She loves hard but her trust is earned with time. She's worth it.
Do you have experience with these types of dogs? Please apply, we would love to talk to you!
